01

Agree the zones, users, endpoints and operating hours before comparing equipment. Identify who will operate each system and which interfaces need joint testing.

  • Site inputs: Floor plans, endpoint schedule, existing systems and growth allowance.
  • Clear scope: Include access control, public address and other ELV interfaces only where required.
02

Specify copper and fibre around the endpoint and backbone requirements. Agree routes, racks, patching, identification and the test standard before installation.

  • Ask for evidence: Link-level test reports, fibre test scope, port labels and an as-built port schedule.
  • Check dependencies: Pathway capacity, separation, bend radius, rack access and device power requirements.
03

Define the required view and lighting for each location. Validate recording, retrieval, storage and network capacity using the agreed operating scenario.

  • Controlled access: Named operator roles, controlled remote access and agreed retention settings.
  • Test the scenario: Day/night views, sample playback, time synchronisation and agreed failure behaviour.
04

Test physical-security and ELV workflows end to end. Agree interface responsibility, operator training, configuration backups and a documented support handover.

  • Acceptance pack: As-built drawings, asset list, configuration record and signed test results.
  • Operational readiness: Demonstrate door events, alarms or announcements where included in the agreed scope.

Detailed design, applicable requirements and test responsibilities are defined within the agreed project scope.
