MEP Installation
SERVICE ENGINEERING GUIDE
Coordinate mechanical, electrical and plumbing installations before they compete for space on site. We deliver agreed MEP packages against approved drawings, with inspection points and testing records that make systems easier to accept and maintain.
What we deliver in practice
Electrical installation
Install specified containment, cables, distribution equipment and lighting within agreed scope. Maintain circuit identification and inspection records; isolation, testing and energisation follow approved procedures by competent personnel.
Circuit schedules, inspection sheets and test records.
Mechanical & HVAC installation
Install approved equipment, ductwork, pipework and supports. Coordinate access for filters, valves and maintenance; prepare systems for agreed pressure, leakage and functional checks.
Installation checklists and system test readiness.
Plumbing & service distribution
Execute scheduled water and drainage networks with the required supports, slopes and access points. Record concealed installations before closure and complete the specified integrity checks.
Route records and pressure/leakage test evidence.
Trade coordination & handover
Resolve spatial conflicts through approved coordination and RFIs. Maintain equipment tags and support specialist commissioning; consolidate records and remaining defects by system for handover.
System handover folders and coordinated as-builts.
The technology, explained
BIM coordination
A coordinated model helps identify spatial and information conflicts between trades. Model findings still require resolution through the project’s approval process.
Installation vs commissioning
Installation places and connects components; commissioning verifies agreed system behaviour. Responsibilities, specialist tests and acceptance authority must be defined separately.
ITP / hold point
An inspection and test plan defines checks and evidence. A hold point requires the designated approval before the next activity proceeds.
Reference architectures & design practices
Illustrative patterns for project discussions. Final topology, sizing, products and acceptance criteria are developed against your requirements. These are BrightGate concept diagrams, not vendor-certified designs.
Coordinated building-services zones+
On smaller screens, scroll the diagram sideways to see all components.
Separate service routes are coordinated within available building zones before installation. The conceptual view emphasises access and trade interfaces; it does not specify cable sizes, pipe diameters or safety clearances, which must come from approved engineering documents.
Design practices to apply
- Coordinate supports and penetrations before installation.
- Retain safe access for operation and maintenance.
- Inspect concealed work before ceilings or walls close.
Systems, products & official references
Examples to evaluate during scoping. Selection, supported features, hardware and licences depend on the agreed solution; a product mention does not imply a certification or an included purchase.
Electrical distribution & lighting
Panels, containment, wiring and fixtures follow approved schedules and submittals.
HVAC, piping & plumbing systems
Equipment capacity and material ratings are determined by approved engineering design.
BIM / coordinated shop drawings
Coordination tools help resolve routes and access conflicts before site installation.

Acceptance evidence
Installation
Check equipment, routes, supports and tags against approved details.
Testing
Complete specified electrical and mechanical checks with responsible specialists.
Maintainability
Confirm access zones and a reconciled handover record per system.
