Security Implementation
SERVICE ENGINEERING GUIDE
Turn an approved security design into working protection. We configure and integrate controls in manageable stages, validate business access and detections, and hand over the records needed to operate and change them safely.
What we deliver in practice
Network security controls
Stage firewalls and agreed VPN/NAC functions, clean up rule intent and apply segmented access. Use staged enforcement and policy-hit evidence to avoid blocking legitimate application flows unexpectedly.
Device builds, rule documentation and policy tests.
Endpoint & server protection
Deploy selected protection agents to a pilot group, tune approved exclusions and confirm health reporting. Extend coverage in waves while recording incompatible applications and unresolved deployment gaps.
Deployment register, policies and health baseline.
Identity & privileged access
Implement agreed MFA, access groups and administrative controls. Test enrolment, emergency access and revocation, with recovery responsibilities and permissions documented for the operating team.
Access configuration and recovery procedures.
Security monitoring integration
Onboard selected log sources, validate parsing and timestamps, and tune priority detection rules. Rehearse alert routing and response steps with the customer team; continuous SOC operations are a separate scope.
Log onboarding pack, detection tests and runbooks.
The technology, explained
NAC / 802.1X
Network access control uses identity and device context to decide access. 802.1X is a port-based authentication mechanism; exceptions require deliberate policy.
SIEM / EDR
SIEM correlates security telemetry; EDR focuses on endpoint detection and response. Both require configured coverage, tuned detections and accountable responders.
High availability
Redundant components reduce some interruption risks. Their failure domains, spare capacity and recovery behaviour must be tested; redundancy is not the same as backup.
Reference architectures & design practices
Illustrative patterns for project discussions. Final topology, sizing, products and acceptance criteria are developed against your requirements. These are BrightGate concept diagrams, not vendor-certified designs.
Pilot, enforce and operate+
On smaller screens, scroll the diagram sideways to see all components.
Network, endpoint and identity controls provide complementary protection and telemetry. Priority detections are tested with safe scenarios, then routed to an accountable operations team. A monitoring integration does not by itself provide a staffed 24/7 response service.
Design practices to apply
- Keep a tested rollback for enforcement changes.
- Measure coverage before expanding the rollout.
- Test alert ownership, not only dashboard visibility.
Systems, products & official references
Examples to evaluate during scoping. Selection, supported features, hardware and licences depend on the agreed solution; a product mention does not imply a certification or an included purchase.

Protection
Validate agreed policy decisions on representative endpoints and applications.
Detection
Confirm test events reach the correct alert queue with usable context.
